PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing a HSP27 fragment for suppressing angiogenesis is provided to effectively suppress angiogenesis, and to treat various diseases related to angiogenesis. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for suppressing angiogenesis contains a HSP27 fragment in which a 1-58th N-terminal amino acid sequence of HSP27 is deleted. A pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer contains the HSP27 fragment. The pharmaceutical composition is used for suppressing cancer metastasis. A pharmaceutical composition for suppressing angiogenesis contains a nucleic acid encoding the HSP27 fragment. A method for screening an active material for suppressing angiogenesis comprises: a step of treating a mixture of the HSP27 fragment and VEGF with a sample; a step of measuring binding level of HSP27 or HSP27 fragment and VEGF; and a step of selecting a sample of which binding level is enhanced over a control group.
