<p>Provided are: an enzyme-immobilized electrode wherein an enzyme can be easily immobilized, while maintaining the enzyme active; an electrode for the production of an enzyme-immobilized electrode, which is suitable for use in the production of this enzyme-immobilized electrode; and a biofuel cell which uses this enzyme-immobilized electrode. In a biofuel cell which has a structure wherein a positive electrode and a negative electrode face each other with a proton conducting body interposed therebetween and which is configured so that electrons are extracted from a fuel using an enzyme, an electrode, on which an enzyme is immobilized and which is formed of a mixture containing carbon particles and a hydrophilic binder that is not soluble in water, is used as the positive electrode and/or the negative electrode. Ketjen black or the like is used as the carbon particles, and ethyl cellulose or the like is used as the binder.</p> |
