PURPOSE: A divider plate type centrifuge and an operation method thereof are provided to be continuously operated for a long time to treat processed liquid such as refuse derived fuel oil which has a high rate of water content, and to prevent the treated liquid from being mixed with separation water. CONSTITUTION: A divider plate type centrifuge(50) comprises a connection pipe(63), a pressure sensor(64), a first valve(66), a discharge pipe(68), and a second valve(69). The connection pipe is connected to a second centripetal pump(59) and to an undiluted solution supply pipe(51). The pressure sensor is installed on the connection pipe, and detects a pressure of processed liquid in the connection pipe. The first valve closes the connection pipe(63) based on a first trigger value of the pressure sensor. The discharge pipe is branched off from the connection pipe on the upstream side of the first valve. The second valve opens the discharge pipe(68) based on a second trigger value of the pressure sensor.
