摘要 This vehicle (100) is provided with a motor-generator (130) for generating power to drive the vehicle, an ECU (300) for controlling the motor-generator (130), and a grade-detection unit (200) for detecting the grade of the road. The ECU (300) implements variable-power operation wherein, as the vehicle (100) is driven, the motor-generator (130) is switched between a first state (a high-output state) in which a first level of power is generated and a second state (a low-output state) in which less power is generated than in the first state. The ECU (300) sets the first-state power level higher when the vehicle (100) is found to be on an upgrade on the basis of the grade detected by the grade-detection unit (200) than when the vehicle (100) is on a level road. This both improves the energy efficiency of the vehicle (100) and prevents the speed of the vehicle from decreasing on upgrades.
