The invention relates to a method for producing flexibilized, flame-retarded thermoplastic materials and molded materials made therefrom. The aim of the invention is to reduce the brittleness or hardness of thermoplastic materials used for the production of molded articles or profiled elements while increasing the flame retardant properties thereof. Said aim is achieved by a method for producing flexibilized, flame-retarded thermoplastic materials which is characterized in that oligomers that can be used as additives and can be produced in a condensation reaction are incorporated into thermoplastic polymers or prepolymers. In said condensation reaction, at least one phosphorous compound having at least one acid function, at least one amide compound having an amide functionality >=2, and at least one polyhydroxyl compound having a hydroxyl functionality >=2 are reacted at temperatures ranging from 60 to 250°C within 30 minutes to 8 hours.
