SHEET-LIKE ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

Provided are: a sheet-like article like a leather or the like, which has both a flexible texture and good wrinkle recovery (i.e., wrinkle-free) properties and also has high durability; a method for producing the sheet-like article; and a method for producing a sheet-like article, which does not require the use of any organic solvent in the process of producing the sheet-like article and is therefore environment-friendly. The sheet-like article comprises: a fibrous base material comprising microfibers having an average single fiber diameter of 0.3-7 mum; and a water-dispersed polyurethane contained in the inside of the fibrous base material. A portion of the water-dispersed polyurethane is adhered dominantly onto the outer periphery of the microfiber bundles and contains a substance having an amide bond. The remaining portion of the water-dispersed polyurethane, which does not adhered dominantly onto the outer periphery of the microfiber bundles, contains a polycarbonate-type polyurethane. The method for producing a sheet-like article comprises: applying a water-dispersed polyurethane solution containing a foaming agent onto a fibrous base material that comprises fibers capable of developing microfibers; then developing microfibers having an average single fiber diameter of 0.3-7 mum from the fibers capable of developing microfibers; and then applying a water-dispersed polycarbonate-type polyurethane solution onto the resultant microfibers.
