A power generation control system is provided with: a variation log containing a plurality of types of variation patterns obtained from previous physical quantities; a variation prediction unit for predicting future variations on the basis of variation patterns obtained from newly acquired physical quantities; a balance calculation unit for calculating the energy balance between the amount of power generated and the amount of power discharged, using the variation prediction of the variation prediction unit; and a switch-timing calculation unit for calculating the time for switching various modes related to power generation and power discharge, using the energy balances calculated by the balance calculation unit.
