An ice dosing unit for an ice maker comprises a chamber (10) which is divided into sectors by a plurality of blades (11) arranged so as to be rotatable about a substantially horizontal axis and which has an inlet opening (29) and an outlet opening (36). In each position of the blades (11) in which the inlet opening (29) overlaps sufficiently with one of the sectors (37) to make it possible for a piece of ice to pass through the inlet opening (29) into said sector (37), the overlap between the same sector (37) and the outlet opening (36) is too small to make it possible for the piece of ice to pass out of the sector (37) through the outlet opening (36). |
