A photographic material comprising a support and at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer is characterized in that the light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and/or at least one water-permeable layer coated at the same side of the support as said emulsion layer contains as an antibronzing or antifogging agent 6-oxo-5, 6-dihydrobenzimidazo [1, 2-c] quinazoline, 6-thioxo-5, 6-dihydrobenzimidazo [1, 2-c] quinazoline, tautomeric forms of these compounds, and salts of said tautomeric forms e.g. alkali metal salts, said compounds being substituted or not with an alkyl, alkoxy, halogen e.g. Cl, amino or acetylamino radical. The 6-thioxo benzimidazo quinazolines may be added to processing e. g. fixing, developing or hardening baths or antibronzing agents and may also be used as such in baths used to treat exposed and developed silver halide materials prior to hot glazing. |
