A subject's body movement is detected by a body movement detection device (100). The result of the detection is transmitted to a server (500). An assessment is made by the server (500) as regards six types of patterns of sleep ("difficulty falling asleep," "early waking," "nocturnal waking," "inadequate sleep," "disturbed sleep rhythm," and "uninterrupted sleep"), on the basis of the detection result.
