The photoreception device includes: a substrate; a photoreceptor element having a photoreceptor portion on the upper surface, and a lower surface that is mounted onto the substrate; an insulating resin having a flat upper surface and an opening through which the photoreceptor portion of the photoreceptor element is exposed, formed on the substrate to a greater thickness than the photoreceptor element, and surrounding the photoreceptor element to seal the side faces of the photoreceptor element. The insulating resin has a step portion furnished with a height between that of the flat upper surface and the upper surface of the photoreceptor portion, the step portion extending parallel to at least one pair of mutually opposed side walls of the photoreceptor element, at the perimeter of the opening. |
