A corrosion prevention performance degradation detection sensor (7) detects the change of the concentration of a corrosion inhibiting agent contained in a solvent to which the corrosion inhibiting agent is added that inhibits the corrosion of a material to be corrosion-prevented. The corrosion prevention performance degradation detection sensor (7) has: a detection electrode (1) reacting with the corrosion inhibiting agent solved in the solvent and forming a corrosion inhibiting electrode surface film on the surface thereof; an opposite electrode (2) disposed facing the detection electrode (1) at a predetermined distance therefrom; and an AC power supply (3) for applying an AC voltage having a predetermined frequency and a predetermined voltage between the detection electrode (1) and the opposite electrode (2). The change of the concentration of the corrosion inhibiting agent in the solvent is detected based on the change of the impedance of the electrode surface film formed on the surface of the detection electrode (1) when the AC voltage having the predetermined frequency and the predetermined voltage is applied between the detection electrode (1) and the opposite electrode (2).
