Active material for packing in the pockets of perforated metal envelopes is made by impregnating a sintered metal with the active material and grinding the resulting mass. Waste material from the normal sintered electrodes may be used or the metal may be deposited on a carrier in a suspension and then sintered as disclosed in Specification 759,788, the impregnation and grinding being by any conventional process. Nickel impregnated with nickel hydroxide is specifically referred to in the examples disclosed. |
