The present invention addresses the problem of providing a decontamination agent that can be used in an extended range of application, compared with the conventional decontamination agents which comprise a synthetic surfactant or show acidity and, therefore, have room for improvement in the application range thereof, i.e., said conventional decontamination agents being applicable exclusively to, for example, the decontamination in a large-scale environment or limited radioactive substances. The decontamination agent according to the present invention contains a biosurfactant and, therefore, is capable of removing a radioactive substance from an object that is contaminated with the radioactive substance. Thus, a decontamination agent that is applicable to the decontamination of not only industrial tools, clothes and so on but also large-scale environments such as buildings, roads and soil can be provided.
