PURPOSE: A light guide plate and a backlight unit are provided to secure a high quality surface light source by forming a light path conversion pattern on the inclined surface of a light guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(123) includes a first area(123a) of which thickness gradually decreases from a first thickness to a second thickness, and a second area(123b) which is connected to the first area and has the second thickness. An LED assembly faces the side of the first area. An optical sheet is formed in the upper part of the light guide plate. A pattern(170) having a lens-shaped cross section is repetitively arranged in the inclined surface in the same direction as the arrangement of LEDs. |
