In this regenerative emergency brake stopping system, a substation (SS1) is provided with: a rectifier transformer (Tr1) which transforms alternating current (AC) power received from an external apparatus; a rectifier (SR1) which converts the transformed AC power into direct current (DC) power; a switch (72-1) which is provided on an electric circuit between the rectifier and a feeder rail (20) and switches between ON and OFF; a simulation ripple transmitter (Tx) which transmits a simulation ripple, said simulation ripple being an AC signal having a predetermined frequency; a superposing circuit which is connected with the feeder rail in parallel to the rectifier and superposes the simulation ripple transmitted from the simulation ripple transmitter on the DC power output from the rectifier; and relay apparatuses (PT1, VTR1, 51, 53) which enable the transmission of a simulation ripple to the simulation ripple transmitter when the rectifier has received power from an external apparatus and the switch is OFF.
