The invention specifies an element of a drum-shaped comminuting track which is intended in particular for a comminuting machine through which gas flows and which has a rotating beater wheel system. Each element comprises a profile section and a distance section. The profile section has alternating ribs and grooves. The elements are arranged successively in the material flow direction or the axial direction. The ribs of the profile section have curved profile edges. The profile edge may be arranged at the material inlet side at an angle with respect to the symmetry axis. Alternatively or additionally, the profile edge may also be arranged at the material outlet side at an angle with respect to the symmetry axis wherein this angle is preferably different to the first setting angle.
