<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear solenoid which improves a magnetic attraction force acting on a plunger and prevents a shaft from falling. <P>SOLUTION: A shaft 5 is provided so as to be separated from a plunger 3, and the shaft 5 is placed in contact with an end surface of the plunger 3 to transmit an axial force of the plunger 3 to the shaft 5. This structure allows a gap between the shaft 5 and a through hole 6 to be narrowly formed and improves a magnetic attraction force. Further, after the shaft 5 is assembled, a part (an opening end of the through hole 6) of a magnetic attraction core 4 is plastically deformed to provide a shaft anti-loosening part 7. Thus, a problem, caused by falling of the shaft 5 assembled to the through hole 6, does not occur.
