<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of identifying the type of a set toner bottle automatically, without adding newly a device. <P>SOLUTION: When a toner bottle is replaced, an image forming apparatus according to the invention performs image forming in a check mode in which driving of a discharge screw is disabled and feeding of developer is enabled and detects a TC ratio after the completion of image forming in the check mode. If the detected TC ratio is equal to or higher than a lower limit of a predetermined normal range, the image forming apparatus performs image forming in a single toner bottle mode in which driving of the discharge screw is disabled and feeding of developer is enabled. If the detected TC ratio is lower than the lower limit of the predetermined normal range, the image forming apparatus performs image forming in a mixed bottle mode in which driving of the discharge screw and feeding of developer are both enabled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
