ORGANIC EL ELEMENT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element which improves the flatness in picture elements and reduces local burdens on a luminescent material thereby achieving long life, and to provide a manufacturing method of the organic EL element.

SOLUTION: An organic EL element according to this invention includes: a base material; a first electrode layer which is formed on the base material and has multiple sections respectively corresponding to multiple picture elements; a first partition wall formed so as to cover peripheral parts of the respective sections of the first electrode layer; an insulation layer which is formed on the first electrode layer and is provided with multiple through holes respectively corresponding to the picture elements; a second electrode layer which is formed on the insulation layer and electrically connects with the first electrode layer through the respective through holes; an organic light emitting medium layer formed on the second electrode layer; a third electrode layer formed on the organic light emitting medium layer; and a sealing layer covering the third electrode layer. The second electrode layer in each picture element and the organic light emitting medium layer in each picture element have recessed surface shapes.
