<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elliptical polarizing plate for maintaining high durability even under high temperature and high humidity conditions. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided an elliptical polarizing plate having a polarizing film and at least one layer of a retardation compensation film laminated on one or both of the surfaces of the polarizing film. In the elliptical polarizing plate, (1) in the polarizing film, a polarizing material is oriented in almost the same direction, and (2) the polarizing material is a metal plated nanowire obtained by forming a metal plated layer having a thickness of 1 to 15 μm on the surface of a nanowire composed of a dielectric material having an average thickness of 20 to 300 nm and an average length of 0.4 μm or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
