<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which performs a position alignment synthesis and an evaluation value arithmetic suitable for automatic focus adjustment. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes image processing means for processing a picked-up image of an image pick-up device, and the image processing means is constituted of a memory part for memorizing a plurality of images within a predetermined period regarding a focus detection area occupying at least a part of the area among the imaging areas imaged by the image pick-up device; an alignment part for aligning a plurality of images of the memory part only in a direction orthogonal to a reading direction of the image pick-up device; a first contrast generation part for calculating a plurality of first contrast evaluation values corresponding to the plurality of images aligned by the alignment part; and a second contrast evaluation value generation part for obtaining a second contrast evaluation value by performing an arithmetic processing for the plurality of first contrast evaluation values, while performing the focus adjustment of a focus adjustment optical system on the basis of the second contrast evaluation value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
