PURPOSE: A method for indicating water replenishment before bedtime, and a humidifier using the same are provided to inform a user about the impossibility of reaching preset target humidity, with consideration for current humidity, the amount of remained water, etc. before the bedtime of the user. CONSTITUTION: A humidifier comprises a water level sensor(10), a humidity sensor(20), an illumination sensor(30), a blowing fan(40), and a control unit(50). The water level sensor senses a level of a water container and outputs a water level value corresponding to the sensed water level. The humidity sensor measures the humidity of external air, thereby outputting a current humidity value. The illumination sensor senses lights from outside, thereby outputting an illumination value corresponding to the illumination of the sensed lights. The blowing fan is rotated according to a driving speed of a motor, thereby forming an air flow. The control unit determines whether converting a mode into a bedtime mode by using the illumination value. The control unit decides whether replenishing water to the water container is necessary before bedtime or not when the mode is converted into the bedtime mode, thereby generating water replenishing signals.
