<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a density change arising from a relationship between a driving block and an amount of printing medium conveyance in time divisional driving, and to suppress a decrease in image uniformity. <P>SOLUTION: A recording apparatus divides an element array into groups including a predetermined number of recording elements, time-divisionally drives the recording elements in each group, and records an image on a recording medium. The recording apparatus comprises: a conveyance means for conveying a recording medium; a calculation means 81 for calculating a cumulative amount of conveyance in the page of the recording medium; a setting means 84 for setting a drive order pattern each time a recording scan is carried out used to define a drive order for the recording elements in each group based on the amount of conveyance calculated by the calculation means; and a drive control means 85 for time-divisionally driving the recording elements according to the set drive order pattern. In order that when the same recording area on the recording medium is multi-pass recorded, the drive orders for the recording elements used for recording in each recording scan for the same recording area are made identical, the drive order pattern is set based on the amount of conveyance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
