<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable switching work of a passage of cooling air to be conducted without requiring opening and closing spaces of opening and closing doors of an intake port and an exhaust port when the passage of the cooling air is switched from a fully closed type to an open type. <P>SOLUTION: An air cooler 7 and a ventilation cover 8 enclosing the air cooler 7 are provided at an upper part of a rotary electric machine body part 1. A switching intake port 8a, a lid 9 closing the intake port 8a, a switching exhaust port 8b, and a lid 10 closing the exhaust port 8b are provided at the ventilation cover 8. In the normal operation, a cooling air sent by fans 6 provided at both end parts of a rotation shaft 3 conducts full closed type circulation, more specifically, cools a rotator 4 and a stator 5, is cooled from an exhaust port 2b of a frame 2 by the air cooler 7, and returns into the rotary electric machine body part 1 from the ventilation cover 8. During the emergency operation where the air cooler 7 is stopped, the lid for the intake port 9 and the lid for the exhaust port 10 are removed and the lid 9 or 10 is used as a division plate 10a dividing the switching intake port 8a from the switching exhaust port 8b to switch the passage of the cooling air to the open type. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
