<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for improving cold flow characteristics in a biodiesel composition derived from coconut palm. <P>SOLUTION: (I) The biodiesel composition comprises ≤40 vol.% of a biodiesel oil derived from the coconut palm, and ≥60 vol.% of a fuel oil derived from petroleum. (II) The biodiesel composition contains ≤20 wt.% of a biodiesel oil derived from the coconut palm, and ≥80 wt.% of an alkyl ester of a 6-18C saturated or unsaturated fatty acid, wherein the alkyl ester is a methyl ester, an ethyl ester, an isopropyl ester, an n-butyl ester, a 2-butyl ester or an isobutyl ester, or a mixture thereof. (III) The biodiesel composition contains 0.1-1.0% (w/v) of a polyalkyl methacrylate additive, and a biodiesel oil mixture derived from the coconut palm comprising (i) ≤40 vol.% of a biodiesel oil derived from the coconut palm, and (ii) ≥60 vol.% of a fuel oil derived from the petroleum. In addition, (IV) the biodiesel composition contains 0.1-5.0% (w/v) of a polyalkyl methacrylate additive, and a biodiesel derived from the palm oil that has the unsaturation level of ≥60%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
