<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical product capable of achieving and improving visibility of both of a prescribed portion and an entire portion, or spectacles using the optical product. <P>SOLUTION: A polarization base material of an optical product, which filters s-polarized light of a predetermined spectral transmittance distribution in a visible region, is colored in a manner so that: the polarization base material has a maximum value in the concerned distribution that belongs to a different wavelength to that of a maximum value of an average spectral transmittance distribution of p-polarized light and s-polarized light in the visible region. In other words, in a graph of Fig. 1, a maximum s-polarized transmittance is around 500 nm, whereas a maximum value of the average transmittance of the s-polarized light and p-polarized light is around 600 nm.
