This image-display-unit-protecting panel unit (10) is provided with: a protecting panel (11) that is for an image display unit (3) containing a glass plate disposed at the front of the image display unit (3) of an electronic apparatus (1); and an annular elastic member (12) that encloses the outer edges (11a) of the protecting panel (11). The protecting panel (11) contains: a front surface (13) that is the operating surface; a back surface (14) that is at the reverse of the front surface (13); and an outer peripheral surface (15) that connects the front surface (13) and the back surface (14). The elastic member (12) contains an inner peripheral bonding section (20) that is chemically bonded to the outer peripheral surface (15) of the protecting panel (11).
