<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas separator for an SOFC having excellent sinterability and satisfying properties required of a gas separator for an SOFC. <P>SOLUTION: The gas separator for a solid oxide fuel cell contains a manganese chromite Mn<SB POS="POST">1+x</SB>Cr<SB POS="POST">2-x</SB>O<SB POS="POST">4</SB>, where 0≤x≤0.4. The concentration of the manganese chromite in the gas separator is higher in the surface layer.
