<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance and high-reliability semiconductor light-emitting element having an electrode using silver and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a semiconductor light-emitting element including a first semiconductor layer, a light-emitting part, a second semiconductor layer, a reflective electrode, an oxide layer, and a nitride-containing layer. The first semiconductor layer has a first conductivity type. The light-emitting part is provided on the first semiconductor layer. The second semiconductor layer is provided on the light-emitting part and has a second conductivity type. The reflective electrode is provided on the second semiconductor layer and contains Ag. The oxide layer is provided on the reflective electrode, has openings, and is insulative.
