<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disaster preparedness cabin which is used usually as a place for daily life, while protecting the body of a person against a danger and preventing a house from being collapsed when a disaster strikes. <P>SOLUTION: A disaster preparedness cabin which is installed inside a house 3 includes: a cabin body having a hollow three-dimensional structure with a plurality of gateways; an opening/closing door which is provided at each of the gateways and of which locking and unlocking operations can be performed from the outside; equipment for life and emergency prepared inside the cabin body; and a saving passageway 95 which is connected with a floor face of a floor higher by one than a cabin body installation floor and through which a person can pass. The disaster preparedness cabin is constituted of a plurality of divided cabins 82, 83 which are communicated with each other. When an unforeseen disaster such as an earthquake occurs, the disaster preparedness cabin is not broken and protects a person even if the house falls down. When a thug or the like intrudes into the house, the person takes refuge in a divided cabin and can guard himself/herself.
