<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a planographic printing plate which enables one bath processing and is excellent in printing durability, ink receptivity and ink stain resistance. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method for preparing a lithographic printing plate, the method comprising: a step of preparing, on a support, a negative planographic printing plate original plate having a photopolymerizable photosensitive layer containing an acrylic polymer having a monomer unit derived from a vinylcarbazole compound and/or an urethane-acrylic hybrid polymer; a step of imagewise exposing the negative planographic printing plate original plate; and a step of developing the exposed negative planographic printing plate original plate with a developing solution having a pH of 4 to 10 which contains at least (component A) a compound represented by the following formula (I) and (component B) water and has an organic solvent content of less than 5 wt.%, in which a water washing step and a rubber coating step before and after the developing step are not included.
