PURPOSE: A master cylinder for a vehicle is provided to efficiently sense the movement of a piston and improve the assembly performance of a magnet assembled to the piston. CONSTITUTION: A master cylinder for a vehicle comprises a cylinder(1), a piston(2), and a sensing unit(5). The piston is installed inside the cylinder in order to enable a forward or backward movement. The sensing unit senses the movement of the piston and comprises a magnet(6) and a hall sensor(7). The magnet is installed on the piston in order to move with the piston. The hall sensor is installed outside the cylinder in order to react to the magnetic force of the magnet.
