<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce discomfort of a driver about a vehicle speed during parking assist and a load of a brake operation for eliminating the discomfort. <P>SOLUTION: A parking assist device includes: a distance measurement part for measuring a distance to an object present around a vehicle; a speed profile storage part for storing a relation between the distance between the vehicle and the object and the speed of the vehicle corresponding to the distance during parking assist, as a speed profile, for each driver of the vehicle; a driver identification part identifying the driver; a parking assist control part reading the speed profile corresponding to the identified driver stored in the speed profile storage part and controlling the parking assist; a vehicle speed change intention detection part for detecting a vehicle speed change intention reflecting an intention of the driver for changing the speed of the vehicle during the parking assist; and a speed profile update setting part for updating and setting the vehicle speed corresponding to the distance between the vehicle and the object, in the speed profile, on the basis of the distance between the vehicle and the object measured by the distance measurement part and the vehicle speed change intention when the vehicle speed change intention is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
