<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved catalyst coating comprising electrocatalytically active components based on ruthenium oxide and titanium oxide, especially for use in chlor-alkali electrolysis, which makes possible a lower overvoltage for the evolution of chlorine, for example in chlor-alkali electrolysis, when used on an electrode, by eliminating a drawback of a conventional technique. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst coating comprises electrocatalytically active components based on ruthenium oxide and titanium oxide and optionally one or more metallic doping elements, wherein the ruthenium oxide and titanium oxide are predominantly present as RuO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and TiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>in rutile form, and wherein the RuO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and TiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>are predominantly present as mixed oxide phase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
