<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning method, an exhaust gas cleaning device, and an internal combustion engine equipped with the device that prevent uneven burning of a PM and can reduce time to burn the PM by diffusing an exhaust gas to the whole area and collecting the PM for each of particle size classes. <P>SOLUTION: Honeycomb ceramics 11-15 are installed in an exhaust passage 2 of an engine 1, wherein the honeycomb ceramics have stepwisely reduced porosity, wall thickness of cells is reduced, and the number of the cells is increased. Each of the honeycomb ceramics 11-15 is installed in order from the inlet 16a to the outlet 16b of the device so as to collect the PM in the exhaust gas G in each particle size class. Diffuser plates 21b-25b are installed so that the PM diffuses to each of the honeycomb ceramics when the PM is collected, or that the exhaust gas G of high temperature diffuses to the outside of each of the honeycomb ceramics 11-15 when the PM burns. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
