SCAN OPTICAL DEVICE AND IMAGE PROJECTION DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent projection image with little distortion when deflection scan is performed by scanning means capable of two-dimensionally scanning a light flux optically modulated according to image information from light source means and a two-dimensional image is formed by projecting a projection image to a projected surface from an oblique direction.

SOLUTION: The scan optical device includes scanning means for scanning a light flux generated from light source means in directions orthogonal to each other and a projection system for projecting scanning light flux scanned by the scanning means to a projected surface. The projection system includes first and second optical elements having powers eccentric to each other in parallel and reflection means having a power and a paraxial curvature center at a position away from optical axes of the first and second optical elements within a reference plane. A center light flux is made incident from an oblique direction with respect to a normal line of the projected surface. When an axis which passes through a scanning reference point and is parallel to the optical axes of the first and second optical elements is specified as a reference axis, the optical axes of the first optical element and the second optical element are properly set.
