A display apparatus includes a display panel which displays a 3D image with a left-eye image frame including a plurality of subfields and a right-eye image frame including a plurality of subfields, a driving unit which drives the display panel and a control unit which controls the driving unit to drive remaining subfields in advance as much as a subfield section of a plurality of subfields which are unused when an image having a grayscale level less than a predetermined value is being displayed.
