PURPOSE: A broadcasting station name confirmation method of a radio data system reception device is provided to accurately extract a broadcasting station name from a PS(Programme Service) name. CONSTITUTION: A control unit determines whether the PI code of decoded RDS data is equal to the PI(Progamme Identification) code of current RDS data(S100). When the determination result is equal to the PI codes, the control unit confirms a current PS name(S400). When the confirmed current PS name is matched with the determined PS name(S700), the control unit increases the number of the confirmed current PS names(S800). The control unit confirms the PS name including the highest counts in the PS names as a broadcasting station name.
