PURPOSE: A surge absorber and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve surge resistance by receiving inert gases in a glass tube. CONSTITUTION: A glass tub(20a) is inserted into one end of a glass tube(10). A sealing electrode(30a) is inserted into the glass tub. A lead wire(35) is electrically connected to the sealing electrode. A surge absorbing device(40) is inserted into the glass tube. Inert gases are received in the glass tube.
