<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device that can obtain with high accuracy the roll angle at automatic vehicle height adjustment non-execution time without depending on the change state of the suspension and the state change of a load. <P>SOLUTION: In a first method, the roll angle ϕ<SB POS="POST">2es</SB>when vehicle height adjustment is not executed is obtained by using the displacements and the inner pressure values (a first and second displacement and a first and second inner pressure value) at two different points in time. In a second method, the roll angle ϕ<SB POS="POST">2es</SB>when vehicle height adjustment is not executed is obtained by using the displacement and inner pressure value (second displacement and second inner pressure value) at one point in time and a predetermined roll stiffness coefficient K<SB POS="POST">ϕ13new</SB>stored before measuring the displacement and the inner pressure value.
