<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically heated catalyst apparatus in which an area to be energized and heated by electrodes spreads in a circumferential direction of a carrier, thereby effectively performing energization heating, and also the electrodes are suppressed from peeling. <P>SOLUTION: The electrically heated catalyst apparatus includes: the carrier formed of ceramics, to which a catalyst is supported; a pair of electrodes formed on an outer periphery of the carrier so as to face each other; and wiring for supplying power to the electrodes from the outside, wherein the carrier is subjected to energization heating through the electrodes.
