<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of diagnosing a dialysate preparation apparatus which does not require a special reagent or equipment for diagnosing a concentration measurement means and permits a diagnosis to be carried out easily, and a dialysate preparation apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The dialysate preparation apparatus 1 includes a water-supply passage 2, an A liquid passage 3 supplying an A liquid, a B liquid passage 4 supplying a B liquid, and first to third concentration measurement means 20, 23 and 27 and is designed to prepare a dialysate by mixing clear water, the A liquid and the B liquid at a prescribed ratio and measure the concentration of the prepared dialysate by the concentration measurement means. Before preparing the dialysate, the apparatus supplies the B liquid to the water-supply passage from the B liquid passage and causes the B liquid alone to flow in the water-supply passage with the dialysate and the A liquid not flowing in the water-supply passage and measures electric conductivity of the B liquid by first to third detection sections 20a, 23a and 27a of the first to third concentration measurement means and compares the measured electric conductivity of the B liquid with a preset value and then diagnoses the accuracy of the first to third concentration measurement means.
