PURPOSE: A Korean mulberry-derived polysaccharide which enhances immunity, and a pharmacological composition containing the same are provided to enhance immunity without cytotoxicity, and to be used as a material for pharmaceutical products, functional foods, and functional cosmetic products. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for enhancing immunity contains polysaccharides including: a main chain including basic skeleton of methyl group-conjugated alpha-1,4-galacturonic acid and alpha-1,2-rhamnose; and a side chain including 5-linked alpha-arabinose, 4-linked beta-galactan, and arabinogalactan. The polysaccharide is derived from Morus spp. using ethanol. The pharmaceutical composition contains rhamnose, arabinose, galactose, and galacturonic acid as monosaccharides forming the polysaccharides. The polysaccharide enhances expression of IL-6 and TNF-alpha.
