The device has a carriage (1), to which a polishing unit (6) is arranged, where the polishing unit is adjustable transverse to the tunnel-longitudinal direction. The carriage is movable in the tunnel- longitudinal direction. The rails are provided for moving the carriage. The polishing unit is vertically movable over two guide rails on the carriage. The guide rails are curved parallel to curvature of the tunnel inner surface, particularly in the area of the wall of the tunnel.
