<p>PURPOSE: An air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to increase energy efficiency by gradually setting up the target temperature of water discharged from an evaporator. CONSTITUTION: A control method of an air conditioner is as follows: A compressor operates(S210). The temperature variation of inflow water, entering into an evaporator after heat-exchanging with a refrigerant compressed in the compressor, is calculated(S230). The target temperature of discharged water discharged from the evaporator is set based on the inflow water temperature variation. An initial target temperature of the discharged water temperature is set(S250).
