An inhalation device comprising a control unit (19) for controlling an air pump (16) via voltage and/or pulse width modulation so that it delivers an inhalation flow and/or an inhalation volume to a nebilizer (12) which is connected to the air pump according to a prescribed temporary course, is new. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling the inhalation device.
