The installation (100) has a primary unit (110) to generate thermal energy from renewable energy, and a water tank (109) arranged to store thermal energy supplied by the primary unit. A secondary unit (117) generates thermal energy, and a control unit (113) receives data representative of weather forecasts (DATA) so that the thermal energy can be generated by the primary unit according to the forecasts. The control unit transfers the thermal energy from the secondary unit to the water tank when the primary unit cannot support predefined thermal energy requirement of the installation. An independent claim is also included for a method for managing an installation for production and storage of renewable energy.
