Ion exchange material fouled with surface coatings of material are violently agitated to cause abrasion of the particles whereby contamination will be removed. The degree of restoration is measured by chemical or electrical tests and agitation is discontinued when the desired degree of restoration is achieved. The impeller of a centrifugal pump or an ejector is used for agitation. |
