<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves placing a pH-sensitive element (2) on a substrate (1) that emits a signal depending on an actual pH-value of the medium. The pH value of the medium is determined based on the emitted signal. A positive test voltage pulse and a negative test voltage pulse are generated between a reference electrode (3) and an auxiliary electrode (4). The height of the pulses in the signal of the pH-sensitive element is compared with each other.
